Osteopathy is a hands-on approach to treating the human body, creating the perfect environment for your body to heal and work for you. Treatment involves manual manipulation together with exercise and lifestyle advice to help with a range of conditions such as back pain, postural problems, rehabilitation from orthopaedic surgery, whiplash, repetitive strain (RSI) and sports injuries.

Modern osteopaths are trained in a wide variety of hands on manual therapy techniques for all muscles and joints of the body, not just the back.  This may involve careful and precise joint manipulation; such techniques are only performed with the patient’s full consent. We also use soft tissue techniques, including deep tissue massage, applied to sore, tight muscles.

Osteopaths identify problem areas of the body through a highly developed sense of touch and palpation.  Educating each patient is the key to successful rehabilitation. Stretching and strengthening programs are provided to assist you in prevention of any recurrence and to maintain movement and mobility.  The gentle nature of osteopathic care makes it appropriate for any age group, from the very young to the elderly
