Mike Varney Physiotherapy is now based at Harlow Leisurezone but Mike first established The Varney Practice in Enfield in 1976. Mike Varney has had over 40 years of experience as a treating Physiotherapist, developing his skills throughout the years in musculoskeletal injuries. Mike is still treating as the Lead Physiotherapist and Director 2 days a week and continues to pass his knowledge and experience to his team of excellent physiotherapists and Sports Therapists.
Now established for 40 years, Mike Varney Physiotherapy offers a wealth of expertise and experience in treating musculoskeletal injuries. A range of specialized treatments are used to aid recovery and healing for a variety of injuries. Such conditions include: back pain, road traffic accidents, sports injuries and other muscle and joint problems.
Our aim is to provide professional advice and competitively priced treatment, to achieve the best possible results. We pride ourselves on providing excellent care, using evidence based techniques to ensure the delivery of the most effective treatment.
Mike Varney Physiotherapy offers a holistic approach to treating clients with a range of treatments including the more traditional physiotherapy practices such as Manipulation, Massage, Electrotherapy and Acupuncture, to more recent treatments such as Shockwave Therapy, Kinesiotape, Pregnancy and Post-natal Therapy and IMS.

Mike Varney Physiotherapy is a member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapists which is the professional, educational and trade union body for the UK’s 48,000 chartered physiotherapists, physiotherapy students and assistants.
The Society of Sports Therapists
Mike Varney Physiotherapy’s Sports Therapists are registered members of the Society of Sports Therapists. Established in 1990, the Society is the lead organisation for Sports Therapists in the UK and strives to provide a professional body for Sports Therapists and advise regulatory, political, legal, judicial and sporting organisations on all matters pertaining to Sports Therapy and Sports Therapists.
Physio First
Mike Varney Physiotherapy is a member of Physio First, which is the Organisation for Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice, launched in 1952 to promote the highest standards of clinical practice in physiotherapy. Their purpose is to help both the general public find highly qualified physiotherapists and to ensure that all practitioners, as members, have full access to training, latest news and that they continue in their professional development.
The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP)
Mike Varney Physiotherapy is a member of The Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists [AACP] which is a Clinical Interest Group [CIG] of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy [CSP]. Its principle aim is the integration of Acupuncture into Physiotherapy Practice for the treatment of pain and systemic illness.
The Health Professions Council (HPC)
Mike Varney Physiotherapy is a registered member of The Health Professions Council (HPC), a regulator set up to protect the public. The register shows health professionals who meet their standards for their training, professional skills, behaviour and health. There are currently over 200,000 professionals on the register from 14 professions.
